Giuliano (the elder), or most commonly, the Golden Boy of Firenze, was the co-ruler of Florence with his older brother, Lorenzo, until his death in 1478. Unlike his brother, he did not have a taste for politics and instead preferred to spend his time with the people in Florence (which, most of the time, was with the ladies). Giuliano was known for his charming personality and handsome looks, and also his athletic ability.

He was also known for his intense fear of giraffes.
